Process Definitions

This article defines what lift processes are commonly seen and how Versatile defines them.

Installation:

The Installation process refers to any action where a product or material:

→ Becomes an integrated part of the structure, or is connected to other components to promote the building process

→ For concrete - after formwork has been installed

⚠️Step 3 is complete only when the element reaches its final installation point — not just when it is first touched.

Failed Installation:

This occurs when an an element begins as the installation of a product, but during the process, the installation has been stopped at any moment during the lift and load returns without installation.

Failed Installations are flagged as "Insights" only when 20 minutes or more are lost.

Removal:

If a fixed element is removed after it has already previously been installed in a different lift.

Removal lifts are flagged as "Insights" only when 20 minutes or more are lost.

Double Handling/Adjustment:

This process occurs when an element that has been previously installed has been touched again in another lift.

Double Handling/Adjustments are flagged as "Insights" only when 20 minutes or more are lost.

Stripping:

This is the process where an object (used for temporary purpose) is detached from the place it was previously installed

This usually happens with temporary elements, equipment, or reusable parts like formwork, that are being moved for reuse.

Demolition:

Existing elements — like concrete walls, beams, columns, etc. — are removed

Bundle:

During this process, the team collects individual components and groups them into a single package (bundle) for future use or handling.

Loading:

This process occurs when an object is moved:

  • From operational/staging area → building area
  • From building area → building area (in a case if its two different building, but on the same floor)
  • From lower floor → higher floor
  • From one building → to another building, the same floor

Unloading:

  • From building area → operational/staging area
  • From higher floor → lower Floor

Truck Unloading:

This process occurs when an object is unloaded from a truck to an operational/staging area.

Truck Loading:

This process occurs when objects are put onto a truck.

Truck Organization:

This process occurs when an object is organized or repositioned on the truck bed.

The object stays on the truck — it’s only moved or arranged for space, safety, or preparation reasons

Site Organization:

This process occurs when an object is moved from operational/staging area → staging/operational area.

Floor Organization:

This process occurs when a product is moved to the same level in the same building. For example from floor 1 to floor one or from staging area to staging area.

Inspection:

This process occurs when a Concrete weight block/Lifting basket is handled for purposes such as: safety checks, predictive maintenance.

Maintenance:

This process occurs when equipment or accessory is handled for repair, service, or upkeep.

  • This includes routine or corrective actions to ensure the object remains functional and safe
  • No construction or installation activity is involved

Accessory Change:

This process occurs when rigging or accessories are changed on the hook.

Disassembly/Assembly:

This process occurs when something has been assembled/disassembled on the ground (formwork, steel structural, etc), by the crane.

Scheduled Shift Break:

This is identified by the project team and applicable start times and durations are relayed to suppport@versatile.ai. This process deducts from the working hours and therefore does not affect crane utilization as it is a planned break.

Unscheduled Shift Break:

  • Unscheduled Breaks are short breaks taken during the shift that are not part of the formal break schedule, such as morning, lunch, or off-shift breaks.
  • When the crane is motionless without load lasting longer than 15 minutes
